Our mission is to bring a great-fitting, high-quality career wardrobe to women professionals, offering excellent client service and broad selection, based largely on the ability to customize. We aim to treat all constituents fairly and honestly, giving them our best efforts and building long-term relationships.
We align with vendors who we believe can help us achieve this Mission, employing knowledge, experience, technology, and quality standards that enable us to meet or exceed expectations. Building a company based on these premises will, we hope, position entreDonovan as an employer of choice and a great organization with which to be associated.
In business school, and for many years after, founder Linda Farquhar was intrigued by the differences in clothing options available to men and women, especially with regard to custom clothing. In 2011, she finally decided to do her part in creating parity — and then some. Today she and her capable team have put together an exciting portfolio of custom solutions aimed at fulfilling the wardrobe needs of female professionals. Additional resources are being sought and added, and the portfolio is constantly being refined.
True Custom Shirts and Blouses at Better Prices -- In July 2013, we brought on another maker of shirts and blouses. Improving on our original try-on program for cotton shirts, we can now offer fully custom-fitted cotton shirts in a wide array of fabric choices and style options. This new maker enables us to accommodate a wider range of size parameters as well as special fit challenges. Improved fit and selection come at no real cost difference to our clients. We are also now able to offer high-quality, custom-fit silk blouses at prices about 20% lower than our original program.
New Store Opening -- In July 2013, entreDonovan opened our first store location -- a pop-up shop in Wilmington's prestigious Hotel DuPont at 1007 North Market Street, Wilmington, Delaware. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:30pm and appointments are available outside those hours to accommodate clients' needs. The shop enables us to serve clients where they work, in the heart of Wilmington's legal and financial district. The Company plans to occupy this location for at least several months while our permanent space is built out in the same downtown neighborhood.
Custom Footwear Program -- In December 2012, we signed with a producer of women's footwear allowing us to measure women's feet and help them custom configure footwear to fit! Some 160 leather, snakeskin and other swatches are available in a vast selection of style options and heel heights. With the help of an iPad app, we can now offer custom configured footwear in sizes ranging from ladies' 2 1/2 double narrow to 15 double wide! Around the same time, we engaged a well-known manufacturer of classic women's footwear so we can offer more than 60 sizes off-the-shelf.
Custom Silk Blouse Program – In June 2012, we engaged an atelier to help us design beautiful silk blouses that could be made to our clients’ measurements. Custom silk blouses are now available based on that classic pattern, with or without a muslin fitting stage. We’re also able to offer a highly personal experience by creating a blouse design based on the client’s direct input.
Linda Farquhar — Prior to founding entreDonovan, Linda spent more than 25 years in the fields of banking and investment management where she had to wear business attire (by varying definitions) to work every day. Linda earned her MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her BS with highest honors from Rutgers University. At Rutgers, Linda received the Alumni Association Award for Student Leadership and was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society for Economics. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Linda resides in Delaware with her husband, their two boys, and two dogs.
Kathy Deacon — Joining the Company in early 2012 to help with accounting functions, Kathy quickly leveraged her 23 years of experience in the legal field to take on other organizational and operational responsibilities. An avid tennis player who favors lemon tea and pretzels, Kathy is widely appreciated for her cheerfulness and enthusiasm in the office. She now knows more about Magento and is thinking more about system hookups than she ever dreamed.
Alison Burns — A recent graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Alison is a native of the Philadelphia suburbs transplanted to hip South Philly. New Business Development is just one of Alison's roles. She also works her magic with visual merchandising and social media, among other responsibilities. Since we opened the boutique in downtown Wilmington, her display windows are becoming the newest street art. Alison is eager to advance her career with us at entreDonovan and is doing her part to help us grow.
Ashley Douglas has impressively diverse talents in math, computer science, and performing arts and is now developing expertise in business administration with entreDonovan. Prior to joining the entreDonovan team, Ashley was an elementary school substitute teacher, which enabled her the flexibility to pursue her love of the stage. As hectic as the pace can be around the office, we have a feeling she finds it serene compared to the days of instructing 10 year-olds. Ashley holds a B.A. in Theater Studies from Yale University and continues to pursue the stage in her spare time. We appreciate that she's such a quick study on all things computer-related.
