DAPI Spring Fashion Show 2015

We were delighted and honored when the Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. invited us to participate in their annual spring fashion show.  The Delaware Adolescent Program, or DAPI, provides educational support to teenage mothers through secondary, vocational, and nursing training in addition to therapeutic programs, social services, and childcare. DAPI has a high graduation rate and the majority of graduates matriculate into college.

The fashion show was a fun event for a great cause...and I got to go!

When I arrived at the Sheraton South Wilmington aka the hotel you pass on the I-95, I was surprised by how pretty it was.  If you can't stay downtown, it's not a bad alternative.

But on to our main event!  And entreDonovan was first on the runway!

The models wearing the entreDonovan line were: Jacqueline Thornton, Ellen England, Renee Bull, Kristian Ashman, Ivy-Lyn Sia, and Lorraine Saunders.  Three of the models held pageant titles: Renee Bull - Miss Delaware USA 2015; Ivy-Lyn Sia - Mrs. Delaware Galaxy 2015; Ellen England - Ms. Pure American Finalist 2015.  They were all very beautiful and most importantly...very nice!  We loved working with them, and it was fun watching them walk the runway with a fierceness.

The rest of the fashion show was fun, but the models had a little pep in their step when the Empire (Fox) soundtrack came on.  Here's a fun moment featuring designs by the Virtuous Woman Boutique with models Lorraine Saunders, Brandi Moore, and Jacqui Thornton. Did you know that Jacqui started modeling in her 40's? If they sold her confidence in a bottle, I'd buy it in bulk at Costco's!

The DAPI fashion show was a great opportunity to discover local merchants and fashion lines.  Throughout the brunch, you could browse beauty and fashion products from regional vendors.  Scrambled eggs and fashion.  Mmm....

We also discovered some old friends.  Anyone remember Angela Jo from Tocara?  She did a trunk show at entreDonovan last year.

The event also had raffles and silent auctions for prizes including a wine rack, a gift card for the Christiana Mall, a week at Bethany Beach, and a trip to Disney World.  I didn't get the trip to Disney World.  My sorrow.

But that loss aside, I had a fantastic time!  The DAPI fashion show was wonderful opportunity to meet local designers, artists, and boutiques.  Plus, brunch was great!  I highly recommend keeping an eye out for this event next year.
